About the AVSP
The African Violet Society of Philadelphia is an affiliate of the African Violet Society of America, Inc. We have been growing together since 1951.
Mission
The mission of the African Violet Society of Philadelphia is to afford a beneficial association of persons interested in the culture of the African violet (Saintpaulia) and related gesneriads and to stimulate and promote interest in their propagation and culture.
Membership
AVSP membership is open to any person agreeing with the objectives of the society and willing to follow its bylaws. Members are also expected to participate in functions and group activities and are encouraged to maintain a membership in the African Violet Society of America, Inc.

Meetings
The African Violet Society of Philadelphia meets on the first Thursday of the month in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. Meetings are open to the public, and visitors are welcome.

Projects and Activities
As a member of the African Violet Society of Philadelphia, you will learn to grow, maintain, propagate and show your African Violets as well as make beneficial associations with other plant lovers like yourself.
Information and plant material is freely exchanged and unique horticultural supplies are available at the club store. You will also have the opportunity to use your other talents as you participate in the many activities associated with our diverse group
